The house

Highway Huts is a row of bamboo cabins set in planted ground, with a glazed dining pavilion at one end and poplars along the boundary. It is the quietest property in the group and the one that asks least of you.

The huts are built from bamboo inside and out — walls, ceilings, wardrobe doors — with timber floors and a proper bed. Each one opens onto its own verge rather than a corridor, which changes how a morning feels more than any amenity list would suggest.

The kitchen works farm-to-table from the gardens on site. There is no nightlife here and that is the point: people come for nature walks, a slow dinner and a night without a screen on.
